Self-hosted, client-side WiFi monitoring for IT teams — testing both your 2.4 and 5 GHz bands every 5 minutes, around the clock.
No coding, no command line. Neto is designed to be set up by anyone.
Download the Neto disk image and write it to a microSD card using Raspberry Pi Imager or balenaEtcher. Takes about 5 minutes.
Insert the SD card and plug in your Raspberry Pi. Neto boots automatically and creates a setup hotspot if no ethernet is connected.
Visit neto.local:8080 from any device on your network. The setup wizard walks you through entering your WiFi details — done in under 2 minutes.
Neto runs a comprehensive set of tests every 5 minutes on both your 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.
Tests both your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands independently, so you can see exactly how each performs at any time of day.
Automated speedtests measure real-world download and upload throughput — not just what your router says the connection is.
Pings your gateway and an external IP every cycle to track latency and packet loss over time — instantly revealing intermittent issues.
Tests your DNS server's response time on every cycle, catching slow or failing DNS before it impacts your browsing experience.
Scans nearby WiFi networks, maps them to their channels, and warns you about channel interference and congestion in your area.
Every metric is graphed over time — from 1 hour to 7 days — making it easy to spot patterns, peak-hour slowdowns, and overnight issues.
Tracks CPU usage, memory, disk space, and temperature on the Pi itself, so you always know your monitor is healthy.
Neto checks for and installs updates automatically. No manual downloads or SD card reflashing — ever.
All data stays on your Pi. Nothing is sent to the cloud except licence validation. Your network data is yours, always.
Unlike your router's stats, Neto tests from the client side — the same perspective your devices have. That means real-world results that reflect what your family actually experiences.
Latency and packet loss to your router — the foundation of a healthy connection.
Round-trip time to an external IP to test your internet connection beyond the router.
Real-world speed via speedtest — separate results for each band.
Resolution time using your DHCP-assigned DNS server.
Time to download a real webpage — testing the full connection stack.
Nearby networks, signal strengths, and channel interference warnings.
Neto is optimised for Pi 4 and Pi 5, and fully supported on Pi 3 B+.

Plain-language guides on what actually causes WiFi problems, how WiFi works, and why it's so easy to mix up a WiFi issue with an internet issue.
No. The entire setup is done through your web browser using a guided wizard. If you can write a file to an SD card, you can set up Neto.
No. All monitoring data is stored locally on your Raspberry Pi. The only outbound connections are speedtest traffic, DNS tests, your network ping tests, and licence validation.
Each licence is for one Pi at a time. You can transfer a licence to a different Pi by deactivating it from the Licence page — no support needed.
The dashboard becomes read-only — you can still view your historical data. Purchase any plan from the Licence page to restore full access immediately.
Yes — Neto works with any standard WiFi router or access point. It connects to your network just like any other device would.
Neto connects to your 2.4 GHz network, runs a full test suite, then reconnects to 5 GHz and runs the same tests — back to back, every 5 minutes.
The dashboard is accessible from any device on your local network. Remote access requires setting up a VPN or port forwarding on your router — Neto doesn't configure this automatically.
Neto checks for updates automatically and installs them in the background. You'll see a notification on the Update page when a new version is available, or you can set it to auto-install.
